How to bring more traffic to your website?

Do you have Cafepress shop? Do you have your new blog? You are using Google analytics or statistic counter to track visitors but you want more customers?

From my personal experience I will include websites which helped me to generate traffic. It might work for you or it might not... but you have to try definitely and remember to be patient!

Here I will list the sites which helped me to bring traffic to my Cafepress shop and my blogs without spending any money on marketing.

  1. Google and yahoo organic traffic ( I mean with keyword search)
  2. http://www.stumbleupon.com/ (is a great website - suggested to anyone)
  3. my personal blog (50% of my traffic is from here)
  4. http://www.blogger.com/
  5. http://www.digg.com/
  6. http://www.technorati.com/
  7. http://www.google.com/
  8. http://www.facebook.com/
  9. http://www.myspace.com/
  10. forums.cafepress.com
  11. http://www.sikhpal.com/ (social network website for sikh)
  12. http://www.squidoo.com/
  13. referrals from other websites
I can add more of them but it's really depends on type of the shop you have...I believe you have to do your own research to succeed... and main thing that you won't be successful unless you have a great content. Content is a king of success!

I've been writing squidoo lenses (I have about 29 so far since last August) and my blogs and on all of them, I have links to my cafe press shop (I also just added a whole bunch of designs). I also have an etsy store which I just started -- but I haven't sold anything there yet (still trying to figure out how to promote that -- it has two of my jewelry designs and 2 knitted Barbie doll outfits that I created.

One thing I noticed, though, is that hits from certain places rarely translate into sales, but hits from other places often do. Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a niche?

I've been using stumble etc on my squidoo lenses (I have 54 so far, thank G-d) thanks to the little icons that are now on the squidoo lenses. I closed up the etsy store (switched to shop-it, but still haven't sold anything).

Our cafe press and zazzle stores are doing a bit better (though the summer is very slow!) but we really would like to get WAY more hits..... So any advice would help.

Thanks.

Debbie
