Dereon shop by Beyonce is a winner.

Shop Deréon.com

Dereon shop by Beyonce is a winner. I'm trying to figure it out why so many people are in love with this shop.

Beyoncé and her sister Solagne have modeled this line of clothing and accessories after the bold and daring ideas of their grandmother, Agnéz. Exquisite detail paired with passionate attitude makes this collection the must have fashion brand. Here is a great offer for urban clothes lovers - Buy one, get one 50% off the Deréon girls collection

Is it good marketing or celebrity star as a face of the shop? I guess both. Many readers of my blog are shopkeepers of the Cafepress and other t-shirt communities ... and I know we all trying to promote our shops as hard as we can. Everyone chooses own way. How can you promote your shop without big investment? Read more how to bring more traffic to your blog or website here.

Why are they so bitter?

My Thoughts Exactly is a Cafepress shop which celebrates the freedom of being away from your EX. This shop features break-up t-shirts and stickers.

Very unusual niche shop indeeed but that is what is makes it special! At some point in time we will all or were an ex... ex-wife, ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, ex-husband.

At My thoughts Exactly, creator of this shop wanted to discover the humor in your situation. I really love the motto of the store. It's good to be positive When all else fails...Laugh!

Cafepress is a hobby for many cafepress shop keepers. For Nikki it's a wonderful break in the monotony. When we asked "Why did you start Cafepress shop about this topic?" Nikki wrote "It was personal experiences with bitter-exes. I kept thinking... "Why are they so bitter?" "There is a world of opportunity, why can't they move on?" So I decided to make t-shirts in honor of bitter-exes with the hope of bringing laughter to their lives.

My Thoughts Exactly is about 8 months. Nikki says "I should have dedicated more time to my Cafepress shop, but I was trying to grow another (unrelated) shop on Etsy. My Etsy shop is now closed thus leaving more time for Cafepress."

This shop is for anyone with a great sense of humor and who isn't afraid to laugh at themselves or with other people.

Dereon by Beyonce!

Shop the Girl's Collection at Deréon

Welcome to the Deréon, the fashion site for those who want the trendy downtown look inspired by the style and character of Beyoncé!
Beyoncé and her sister Sologne have modeled this line of clothing and accessories after the bold and daring ideas of their grandmother, Agnéz. Exquisite detail paired with passionate attitude makes this collection the must have fashion brand. The flair of the fleur-de-lis insignia that marks the name, Deréon, speaks to young women who want to exude confidence and style. Only the Knowles family, with their fervor for fashion, could design apparel that embodies femininity, and yet still represents the edge of the hip hop industry.

Turn up the heat with this sizzling top. Printed dagger rose graphic with foil detail, fleur-de-lis, and sparkling embellishments fashion front bodice. Tube style silhouette is accented by an elastic upper band, empire waist, and banded hem.

Wize guyz tees world

Check out Wizeguyztees (he has contacted me through Entrecard) and its t-shirts
Baby Gremlin and Monopoly Head

"My name is Dutch Schultz and I started Wizeguyztees about 1 year ago and the website has been up for about 6 months.
My t-shirt homepage is http://www.wizeguyztees.com/ which sells funny and offensive t shirt designs on American Apparel t shirts and sell for 16.95 with Free Shipping in the U.S. when you buy 3 or more t shirts per visit. This is really more of my hobby right now as I am a Sales Rep in the Financial industry. I hope to call it a main job one day. I have always found the offensive t shirts to be the best even when I was in high school and college and I feel that I have some good ideas that unique even in a saturated market like t shirts. I try to target the 17-35 range with the main focus on the younger side of that range. "

Wizeguyztees has great designs and I would like to see more like these. As well I like the way he made his website. For young t-shirts designers, I would suggest to try CAFEPRESS and you don't need to worry HTML or hosting of your website.

Ami's Custom Creationz

I'm a fan of Entrecard and one day I was asked by Ami to promote her card on T-shirt Legends. When I started exploring her website, I have found out that she has Ami Creatz Shop on Cafepress!

Ami told T-shirt Legends "I wanted a way to tell my friends and others about my new designs. So, I started a blog that did just that. It is also a place were I can display other crafts I have completed.

I am a full time student at the U of I majoring in Fashion Design. I am hoping to start my own clothing store after I graduate. (Good luck!)

My Cafepress shop is just a hobby but, I hope to nourish t-shirt designing into a part time job. I purchased a premium shop this year so that I could have everything in one place.

The topics I chose are mostly decided by the mood I'm in or something that's happened that day.I have had a Cafepress shop for about a year now.I try to have designs that would be appealing to everyone.

Diversity is my goal but in the long run I end up designing for myself. So hopefully there are people like me wanting to buy a t-shirt. :) I would encourage new shopkeepers to include some unique designs for instance me and my sisters have unusually spelled names. So, when someone is looking for that way to spell Ami they find it in my shop."

By Busted Tees

'Without Me, It's Just Aweso' T-Shirt for Women

'Without Me, It's Just Aweso' T-Shirt from Busted Tees. With over fifty million funny t-shirt sites on the internet, Busted Tees is an old pro at the t-shirt game having been around for more than four years.

We both know that you are the life of the party -- but does the rest of the party know this? Do they know that last week you drank an entire bottle of Cuervo, walked over to the TV to start humping it, passed out in mid-stride, and crashed your head into the screen and had to go to the hospital after losing almost a pint of blood?

Artwork of Dee Rimbaud

Dee Rimbaud is a writer, artist and musician. We, Cafepress shopkeepers, are doing jobs, study and live our lives but what unites us is Cafepress and opportunity to do something creative plus have extra earnings.

Dee discovered CafePress when someone who bought one of his drawings suggested he could market his work through CafePress. Dee has his CafePress shop for about two years now. His shop is for someone with a very individual taste in clothes, who wants to look different from the herd.

"My CafePress shop is a place where I sell 40 different pieces of my artwork on t-shirts, sweatshirts, posters, greeting cards, fridge magnets etc. I have a blog with all 40 images at www.rimbaud-products.blogspot.com/ or you can see the images on my website at www.rimbaud.org.uk/artproducts. There are direct links from the images to the CafePress shop where products with that particular image are sold.
You should take a peek into the art world of Dee - it's dark, mysterious and provoking! It's like a puzzle - you are trying to guess the meaning of each artwork but you can't.

Poptastic is fantastic.

Poptastic is a one-stop shop for groovy graphic tees & gifts for pop culture fans. They carry a variety of products printed with TV and movie-inspired logos and quotes, retro and sci-fi art, funny slogans and pop culture parodies.

Poptastic is run by Cynthia and her husband. Her husband is an artist/graphic novelist and Cynthia is a freelance graphic designer and part-time creative director for a local publication. They opened Poptastic in January 2007.

Cynthia told T-shirt Legends "Poptastic was borne out of our passion for creating graphics that we would like to see people wearing on t-shirts and other apparel. It started out as a hobby but when sales started picking up, we decided that designing for t-shirts using a fulfillment service like Cafepress can actually be a good source of income for us too.

Pop culture is definitely something everyone can relate to and it was something we were sure we would always have ideas for. We try to make it a point to stay up to date with current trends and happenings so that our design selection is always fresh."

Who would be interested in Poptastic? TV/Movie/Pop culture fans who don't want the usual logo tees. " We want our customers to feel like they're wearing something that other true-blue fans will be able to "get" and will make them ask, "where'd you get that shirt?!" We also have funny graphic tees for those who just want to wear designs that will elicit positive reactions from their friends."

World of Bent Objects

By Terry from strange World Of Bent Objects.

I have a blog called "Bent Objects", which I started in 2006. It has to do with wire, and objects, and using them together to make narratives. Hard to explain. If you have a sense of humor, you might enjoy it.

I quit my day job in mid May to direct all attention to finishing my book "Bent Objects: The Secret Life of Everyday Things" (title subject to change). I had been a baker in a large supermarket for almost 7 years while I explored an art career. Before that, I worked in commercial photography, but got tired of making everyone elses visions a reality, and never mine.

I started my cafepress shop about the time I quit my day job, in the hopes of making some extra money. Most of my images are on hold for my book, but I hope to keep adding more selections as time goes on. My first image made especially for Cafepress is my S.O.S.A.D. T-shirts and such. That stands for Strangely Orange Snack Appreciation Day, which falls on June 21st of every year. Never heard of it? That's because I just made it up a few months ago. On that day, I'm hoping people enjoy strangely orange snacks, and remember the great innovations of processed foods, and food coloring. On said day, I will be eating only orange foods, and drinking only orange beverages.

If a person likes quirkiness, humor, maybe they're a little eccentric... maybe they'll like my shop. I've had fun writing the special descriptions in the S.O.S.A.D. section. Especially the kids apparel. Hope you check those out.

Please visit! I'm paying for my own insurance now!
Thanks, Terry

I really love the idea of bent objects. Good luck to Terry with his book and please we need more strangely cool bent objects on tees. It's worth checking his blog. It's one of the most unusual blogs I have ever discovered.

Springleap t-shirt competition.Think U have a Tshirt design that EVERYONE will LOVE & want 2 wear?

Think U have a Tshirt design that EVERYONE will LOVE & want 2 wear? If your thinking is right you'll walk away with HUGE CASH & PRIZES.
You should check out Springleap!

Springleap took on the massive task of empowering designers and the South African garment manufacturing trade, which has been suffering for ages.

They launched a new site that is really making HUGE waves : www.springleap.com

Users can submit designs for tshirts and vote - every month we have 20 winners, 1 celeb/blogger challenge and 3 featured SA designers.

In the competition for the 20 winners, the designer with the most amount of votes for that month gets a cash prize and loads more, not to mention recurring revenue on every tshirt sold.

The 19 runners up also get shirts, recurring revenue and bunches more. The real kicker that sets us apart is the massive EXPOSURE we give the artists : they put the name of the designer on the back of their shirt, and those shirts are to be sold in almost 20 stores across SA, as well as the springleap website both locally and abroad. This means that the artist always retains VISIBLE and OBVIOUS credit and exposure for their hard work.

Pink Diva Golf

Pink Diva Golf.com offers fun, hip and trendy women's golf t-shirts, hats, tote bags, jewelry and accessories for the golf fashionista. Our golf designs are being worn by women golfers all across the country on the hometown links to the pro players. We also support the fight against breast cancer and offer a selection of shirts and gifts to show your support for breast cancer awareness.
Besides the designs available from Pink Diva Golf through Café Press, we also offer jewelry from the Pink Diva Golf jewelry shop. The diva jewelry shop has golf and breast cancer awareness jewelry including bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. We mix jewelry elements with sterling silver golf charms, gemstones, and Swarovski crystals to create handmade original golf jewelry designs.
We asked Pink Diva:
What do you do for a living? Is this your job, a hobby?"
I am a Marketing Consulting in the high tech world and the President/Founder of Pink Diva Golf – I do both full-time!

Why did you start Cafepress shop about this topic?
I started playing golf again in the summer of 2007 and I wasn’t able to find fun, trendy women’s golf t-shits, and golf accessories so I founded Pink Diva Golf in November 2007. Most of the golf shirts for women are plain, conservative polo’s without much personality. Pink Diva offers one-of-a-kind, unique designs that won’t break your budget and appeal to the golf fashionista. Our designs were created with the pink golfer in mind and you’ll see the pink theme throughout the designs.

How long have you been working on this Cafepress shop? I started working on creating Pink Diva Golf in the summer of 2007 and officially launched the site of November 2007.

What kind of person would be interested in your shop?
Women golfers, junior golfers and we even have golf designs for kids! Since we also carry breast cancer awareness t-shits and accessories anyone looking for shirts to wear for the Breast Cancer Walks or charity golf tournaments might also be interested in my shirts and gifts.

For more golf apparel go to PINK DIVA GOLF

T-shirts to die for from Retro God

RetroGod is a collection of retro classics in the making. Strong conceptual design with a retro flavor, unique and original artwork dealing with social commentary and cultural misconceptions in an amusing and stylish way. Over 100 designs by UK designer Paul Baines.

Paul Baines has an arts background. He graduated at Brighton University UK in Conceptual Arts and Media before beginning a career as a designer. He spent ten years working as web and print-based graphic designer before taking on more and more corporate branding projects.

He started to feel he lost his own way, he neither had the space or time to return to his original love of painting and print, installation work and video. Therefore he chose t-shirts as a quick and convenient outlet for his art.

"Eventually the sales began to pick up, I started a blog about t-shirts and am working on a global t-shirt printer's directory. I hope to eventually have my own independent online store and screen-printing equipment so I can have far greater control over the creative process - including larger designs and over-the-hem printing.

I have a decent-sized customer base, I seem to sell to women mainly, although men do love 'Ninjas' and 'Crowd Surfer'. The most popular item with women is 'Speak to the Hand'. I think my work has a broad appeal, especially with retro enthusiasts?

The name Retro God probably came to me on the way back from the pub one Weekend, it sounded good at the time, it isn't religious, perhaps a tad blasphemous, still a catchy name!"

Stop! You need to see Brev 87's artwork!

When I joined Cafepress, I noticed Brev87 on CP forum. I clicked on his link and was amazed by quality and colours (I'm mad about bright colours) of his designs... no hold on ... its more ARTWORK.

Brev 87 explained "Brev 87 is funky overtop and in your face designs. I try to push the limits to your imagination. This is definitely my hobby. I've been into art and design since I was 5 years old. I started my Cafepress shop as a creative outlet. I've been working on my Cafepress shop seriously, for about 2 years now. What kind of person would be interested in his shop? Someone that wants something different, out of the normal everyday design."

Make Money With Your Photos

Make Money With Your Photos
By: Diana Cooper

So you learned to take a great picture and now you would like to make some cash from them (and of course, share your artwork with the world). Here are three ways you can go about this without costing you a fortune.

Create your own products using your photos, such as framed prints, greeting cards or t-shirts, and sell them on Ebay. Ebay receives millions of visitors eager to buy, provides easy step by step instructions on getting you set up (their website also offers advice and tips on selling) and costs are very minimal. You have the choice to auction your product or let your customer "buy now". Your biggest investment in this is producing your products.

Sell products on Cafepress. They provide the products (framed prints, t-shirts, coasters, mousepads, clocks, teddy bears and much more) which you will apply your photos to (just upload and add to the product you choose) and they provide complete service (orders, delivery, complaints). You build your store (through their website) either using one of their templates or you can customize your own using HTML. They have a base price for each product and you set the price above that. You are paid the price above the base price. You can open a free store or you can pay a small fee each month and receive more benefits. Thou your products will appear in their Marketplace (which they receive millions of customers) so will millions of other products. So your biggest investment here is to advertise your store.

I am not going into advertising here but there are free and low cost ways of doing this (read articles regarding this matter).--Submit your photos to online stock agencies such as Shutterstock, Fotosearch or iStockphoto. Stock agencies house large files of images and markets the photos to potential clients. You are paid a percentage or a set price of each sale. You give these clients permission to use your photo (such as in their magazine or on their personal website) but they can not resell to profit from.

Whichever way you decide to sell your photos, the better the resolution your pictures are, the better the quality. To achieve this, first you must have a high megapixel digital camera. This does not mean you need to buy the top of the line. A 5 megapixel is quite sufficient. Second, your picture should have a high DPI (dots per inch) such as 300. If you want a high quality 8x10 inch picture, you will multiply the DPI by the inch. For instance, 8x300=2400 and 10x300=3000 so you want your picture size (resolution) to be 2400x3000 pixels. You can always decrease the size of your picture but never increase the original size. Before joining any program, be sure to read their terms carefully. I wish you much success!

Funny and original t-shirt designs by Revelever

I wouldn't mind having t-shirt "Pour Some Sugar On Me". It's definitely a stopper!

The word REVEL is defined as "to take great pleasure or delight", while the word EVER is defined "at all times, always". Combining 2 words into Revelever makes a new definition of " taking great pleasure or delight at all times, always"

This is the philosophy behind REVELEVER, which specializes in funny original t-shirts and apparel !

Q: What are the two dirtiest animals on a farm?

A: Brown chicken, brown cow! Now you can proudly wear a punchline on your clothing, while people looking at you will think of the 70's porn soundtrack music like "BowChikaBowBow!". These humorous apparel items are exclusive to REVELEVER!

Look what i've found. The art of the band t-shirt

Art of the Band T-shirt

*

Look what I have found. The art of the band t-shirt book. Once, t-shirts were just unadorned garments. But with the evolution of screen-printing and the birth of band merchandising, t-shirts became much cooler. Now every band with an ounce of savvy knows the importance of a shirt not only as a lucrative sideline but also as a means of self-promotion and a way for fans to show their allegiance.

THE ART OF THE BAND T-SHIRT is an informative and stylish showcase of the most noteworthy shirts of the past five decades. It includes t-shirts from artists as diverse as Led Zeppelin, the Ramones, Madonna, Morrissey, Public Enemy and the Flaming Lips, each with an explanation of historical background, little-known facts, or artist's comments about the design. A fascinating, beautifully illustrated archive for hipsters, serious collectors and all music fans, THE ART OF THE BAND T-SHIRT is an indispensable as the perfect tee.

So I'm an internet enterpreneur now

So I'm An Internet Entrepreneur Now
Author: Chris J Wright

So I'm in online business now. A while ago, I was reading a comedy website, and spotted a little advertisement down in the corner telling me that I could buy t-shirts from the site if I wanted to. I really liked the site, so I was interested, and went to take a look.

Life was never quite the same again!

It turned out that this website owner was something of a shrewd businessperson, and had set up an online shop to sell t-shirts, mugs, hats and a whole bunch of other stuff bearing their website's name and logo. I bought a t-shirt, and was pleased with the quality and so on, and it got me thinking.

At first, I assumed that this must be someone with either a lot of money to risk, or an awful lot of know-how and business contacts. I mailed the site owner to ask for some pointers, and discovered that it was possible for me to sell the same kind of things remarkably easily, and, more importantly, for little or no investment.

Having received more than my fair share of attempted scam emails in the past, I looked into this carefully, and was pleasantly surprised at what I found out.

Anyone can have an online shop selling t-shirts, hats, mugs, framed prints, posters, greetings cards.... The list goes on and it is extensive. Even more surprising was when I discovered that musicians and writers can also release professionally printed and bound CDs and books this way.

Still wary of the "too good to be true" element of this new knowledge, I started up a free shop with a site called Cafepress and set to work on the frighteningly simple process of setting up designs and products. A little improvised web marketing (heaven knows I'm no marketing expert) and a few emails later, and I received an email with this pleasing subject...

"You made a sale at Cafepress.com!"

Eagerly opening that mail, I discovered that someone I had never heard of, somewhere far away, liked one of my designs enough to spend their money on it. You can imagine how good that felt. Suddenly I was earning money as an online retailer!

Encouraged by this, I upgraded to a "premium shop", which enabled me to add more products and designs, and take more control over how my shop looked and so on. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had done this in the first place, but it doesn't hurt to test the water, so to speak.

Those "You made a sale!" emails continued to trickle in. Then the trickle became a stream, and I discovered that the small monthly payment for the premium shop was being taken care of by my own sales. The shop was effectively still free! Further encouraged by this development, I set to work on more designs, and learned a little about making sure my shop appeared in the various search engines (tip: basically just make sure you have plenty of good text in there). The stream of sales became a river.

I discovered that Cafepress.com has a forum, where "shopkeepers" discuss tactics and ideas, and soon I was really cooking with gas, with a great shop, great sales, and feeling pretty great myself. Sales continue to grow, and I'm about to find out what the Christmas sales boom is like as we approach the later part of the year. It's a good time to get into it, actually, because with millions of people out there scouring the web for unique and original gifts to give to people, the chances of making a positive start for your shop are very good.

Well, that's my story. There are people out there making a lot more than I am, and I guess that it's a case of finding the right niche, the right designs, and getting your shop just right.

If you feel like giving it a go, Cafepress is at... www.cafepress.com/cp/info/storeref.aspx?refby=tshirtypoo and if you fancy having a look at my shop, it's at www.cafepress.com/tshirtypoo

Artwear and Artworks by Kristen Stein

Artwear and Artworks by Kristen Stein

Welcome to my new online store! Here you will find a variety of artwork and artwear emblazoned with my original artwork. Some of the designs are created from my original paintings, some are designs that were originally created for tshirt design contests. If you don't see the perfect product for you, please email me and let me know, I'd be happy to customize a product for you. Please visit my website at http://www.studioartworks.com/ for more original art. New designs will be added to this store on a weekly basis.

If you would like to be notified when I add a new design to this store, please subscribe to my Art blog at http://www.kristensteinfineart.blogspot.com/

I am an full-time, professional artist. I normally work with acrylic on canvas and have just started experimenting with graphic design and tshirt designs. Cafepress is a nice way to showcase several of the tshirt designs that I've created and it allows the customer to buy more than just a tshirt as cafepress has a wide-range of printable merchandise.

I have amassed quite a collection of digital images of my paintings and graphic designs and thought that Cafepress would be a nice site to showcase my artwork so that customers could buy more than just posters or prints featuring my artwork. I had looked into several online sites, but Cafepress was one of the few that could work with some of my more intricate details in some of my designs.

I've been a member of Cafepress since 2003. Back then, I primarily used cafepress to set up stores with merchandise featuring some of my customer's paintings. This allowed them to purchase their painting on gift merchandise.

My premier store : Artwear and Artworks by Kristen Stein at Kristen Designs was created in April 2008 and is relatively new. I plan to update it weekly as some of my tshirt designs are released to me.

I think my artwork appeals to a large audience. Everything is family friendly. I have sections with an organic, garden, floral, nature theme. I have a sections of art-based designs and graffiti designs. I also feature whimsical pet portraits, holiday-themed designs and have special designs showcasing peacocks, koi fish and golfing. I currently have 109 designs in 12 different sections that I believe appeal to all different types of buyers.

Safety and Warning Signs Apparel and Gifts

This Cafepress shopkeeper writes "after working in chemistry R&D for so many years, I've come across countless safety and warning signs alerting me to a serious hazard. But the time has come to remove those signs from the lab and stick 'em on fun apparel and gifts!" Great chemistry and warning t-shirts available from GEEKY SECTION.

I thought these are quite simple but nice designs. If you like chemistry and geeky humor visit this Cafepress shop. Great t-shirts!

Michael Trafford - animal photography

The first Cafepress owner to be featured on T-shirt Legends is Michael Trafford.

He is an animal photographer since 1975. Dogs and horses are his speciality. He is based in the Scottish Borders, UK.

"I've been a professional photographer since 1975, specialising in dogs but taking other subjects too. I've been published worldwide in books and magazines and the time has come to use the resources on hand - several hundred thousand photos - so I started my Cafepress shop. So far it is attracting steady interest and a pleasing amount of buyers, making me confident of increasing future sales as the designs grow in number. I'm based in the Scottish Borders and travel overseas regularly. I'm currently in Australia and expect to be in Russia sometime in September. Eventually, I can see that my Cafepress shop will be a major source of income, that is my plan. The current shop has been built up over the past few months, since February, and there is much more to do over the coming months and years. My feeling is that the time required to do the designs and take the photos is an excellent investment and the resulting designs should be of interest to anyone interested in animals of any kind. The most recent additions are in the Bird section, of Cockatoos, Galahs and other parrots photographed just last week. One or two cry out for captions, so if anyone has any caption suggestions I'd be interested to hear them".

Rhonna designs - Create

Beautiful design by Rhonna Designs. This t-shirt company I noticed when I just started my Cafepress shop. Check out as well amazing looking personal page of Rhonna at www.rhonnadesigns.com/.

What Cafepress taught me....

What Cafepress taught me.... I'm thankful to Cafepress not only for opening a new world of CP (Cafepress) but it taught me to be more disciplined, organised... to do the planning ahead...never to rush. At the start I took Cafepress as a joke.... I thought I should try it and I did... but I haven't took it seriously. Now I'm a happy owner of Desi Legend Shop, I don't make millions but I'm happy with what I achieved. It made me think that in future I would like to work from home and have my own business. Here few suggestions for self-improvement:
  • Never rush
  • Read all tips and instructions
  • Plan ahead
  • Be organised
  • Improve constantly
  • Read and research about your niche
  • Keep black or red concept diary for your brainstorming/notes

Good luck! And don't forget that if you want to be featured here at T-shirt Legends please leave a comment.

Funny t-shirts make a great ice breaker with women

Funny T-Shirts Make A Great Ice Breaker With Women
by: Spencer Powers

Throughout history men have tried every technique available to pick up women. Some guys use a straight forward approach and others use cheesy pick-up lines. Lately a new trend has been emerging that seems to work better for men than any traditional pick-up techniques. Men across the country have been wearing t-shirts with funny sayings on them to get women to flock to them. It sounds ridiculously simple but it works.
The reason that the shirts are so effective is because often a woman will have an interest in you but not how to let you know. By wearing a funny shirt you give them a reason to come talk to you. All they have to say is “I like your shirt” and let out a little chuckle and the conversation is started.
WittyShirts.com ( http://www.wittyshirts.com/ ) has a line of hilarious t-shirts that will have have women everywhere laughing hysterically upon reading them.

Some of the standout shirts are:
"I went to a t-shirt shop and all I got was this lousy t-shirt"
"Your Dum"
"Procrastinators Anonymous: Meetings Start Tomorrow"

So instead of worrying so much about going to the gym and getting in shape, spending tons of money on expensive clothes and baking in the tanning salon, go out and grab yourself a few funny t-shirts – They work much better!

How to sell T-shirts online

How to Sell T-shirts Online
by: Robin Goff

This article is intended as a guide for those who are looking for answers about selling t-shirts on-line. This guide is by no means perfect. It is written by me, based ONLY on my personal experiences. Forums, blogs, as well as, the printing company in question's home page are great places to start getting additional information.

What is my experience with selling t-shirts? In 1999 my first son, Brandon, was born. Long before he could actually talk, he began the "baby talk." Mostly goos and such. He was a perfect baby. He slept all night, was NEVER sick., always happy., and always smiling. Anyway, when he began this baby talk, he would (as most babies do) say, what sounded like, "I Good." The good was a bit long drawn out. My wife, Laurie, and I would always respond with something like "I know you’re good." And that was absolutely the truth, as I said before he was a perfect baby. I soon came up with the idea that it would be cute to have a little t-shirt for him that said "I good." Laurie agreed. We soon went to Wal-Mart and bought iron-on t-shirt transfers. I made a simple blue phrase using Microsoft Paint, "I Goood." I added the extra o to make the word more drawn out like he was saying it. By the end of the night he had a t-shirt that said I Goood. My wife and I made ourselves one with his picture on it. Laurie loved the shirt. She still has it.

It's 6+ years later, it's a bit worn, but she still has it. I was hooked on the idea of making t-shirts. I very soon began thinking, "I wander how I could sell these. They're cute, and every baby says I goood. I know this would sell, if I could just market it. But how do I market something that only exists in my brain." My wife and I were not wealthy. We had only been married a couple years. She didn't work, and I was making just enough to pay bills. We had no money or experience. I soon gave up the idea. It was a hopeless dream. Four years later, our lives had changed a little. We were living in a new house. I had a new job. My wife had a new job. She was pregnant with our second son. We both had returned to school. I had recently bought a new laptop for school. It was late January 2003.

One slow Saturday at work, two co-workers, and myself, were sitting around bored. It was me (I'm a clinic nurse), the receptionist, and the doctor. We 3 have a great time at work. We are always playing pranks, telling jokes, and generally having a good time. I was flipping through a magazine when I say an article title that said "Football takes balls." It was a pun, and I love puns. I was thinking "that's a great line." A lot of things could take balls. I took a sticky note and quickly sketched a few little pictures, each complete with a little slogan. One had a football and goal post; it said "It takes BALLS." Another had a prisoner with his striped cloths, and two balls attached to his ankles with chains. It said "prison takes BALLS." Another had a canon. It said "It takes BALLS." I showed my pictures to my two co-workers hoping for a mere laugh, after all I drew 5 or 6 of these in a matter of 10 minutes, so I didn't put that much work into them. Like I said, all I wanted was a little laugh. What I got was unexpected. They both really liked the pictures. They both began telling me I should try and sell these ideas or try to get someone to put these on t-shirts. I just blew it off, I already went down that road with "I Good," and it is a dead end street. I don't have the means or know how to do such a thing. Where do I go to sell t-shirts When I was thinking about selling t-shirts, I was thinking about selling a design to someone who could make a shirt with the design on it, and then they could sell the t-shirt. I would make money selling the design to the t-shirt company. I began surfing the net, on my lap top, looking for someone who would buy my designs. This was almost hopeless. It was nearly impossible to find a trustworthy company who would buy designs.

That's when I stumbled upon CaféPress. They didn't actually buy designs, but they would allow you to upload designs and then sell those designed t-shirts in a CafeShop, absolutely free. That's right, at no cost. At that time, CaféPress offered a few items to sell. White t-shirts, thongs, lunch box, coffee mugs, as well as a few other items. CaféPress, Too good to be true? I joined CaféPress on February 6, 2003. I started with a few basic shops. Was CaféPress too good to be true? Did I get rich quick? Was this an easy way to make money? Well let’s just say I didn't quit my day job. I uploaded all my designs, put them on shirts, and then waited for them to sale. And waited some more. Then I waited a bit longer. After that I waited a little more. Eleven month of waiting had gone past, not one single sale. My wife said I was wasting my time "playing on the computer." I was starting to think so too. I just didn't want to give up. I thought my ideas and designs could sale if I could figure out how to market them.

In January 2004, my wife decided she wanted to get one of my "Wanna Monkey Around t-shirts." We ordered one, and I was shocked. The shirt itself was OK, but my designed sucked. It was very pixilated. It was blurry, and looked very unprofessional. I was glad that none had sold. To my horror, my sister ordered one of these awful shirts before I had the time to fix it. I spent weeks redoing my images. I ended up profiting $9.49 in 2004. What a great year right? I think it was. It gave me the chance to make mistakes and learn how to make better designs.

Time to get serious. In late 2004 I knew if I wanted to sell t-shirts, I need to have a way to drive traffic to my CafeShop, but how? Part of the solution was to get my own domain name. I chose web hosting through Yahoo. I then registered TshirtManiacs.com. I also began paying for a premium CaféPress shop. Over the next year I made new designs and CaféPress added new items to put my designs on. Again I didn't get rich, but I did make a $505.17. That is a 53 times increase from last year. Now I'm not going to say what I've made in 2006, but I will say I'm expecting to make a few thousand this year. So it's a little improvement in last two years. I only do this part time, and I put NO money into it. If I were to invest in ads, and other forms of advertisement who knows what the profit potential is. For now, I am happy with where I am at. CaféPress and it's competitors.

CaféPress is a great service. It is very easy to use. Very inexpensive (basic shops are free). CaféPress offers a large selection of products to sell, including the best selling t-shirt. They are an award winning service with great customer service, great products, shopkeeper forums, and much, much more. They do their best to offer great products and service to both their customers and shopkeepers. Currently they have more than 22,000,000 products available by their shopkeepers. They have search system that is beyond compare. It is very easy for shoppers to find the product and design they want. They also have a wonderful affiliate plan too. What does CaféPress offer? You can sell: Merchandise you design including t-shirts, posters, mugs, bumper stickers and much more Books printed on-demand Audio and Data CDs What CafePress.com does Gives you a FREE online shop to promote your products Produces each item when ordered using there unique print-on-demand technology Handles all payment transactions including major credit cards Ships your products worldwide Manages all returns/exchanges Offers customer service via toll-free phone and email Sends you a monthly check for your earnings on sales! Can I really make money? Yes! Some of the shopkeepers earn over $100,000 a year. Premium Shops earn 10X more than Basic shops on average. Plus thousands of members earn a steady stream of income through their CafePress.com shop. How it works: Each product has a Base Price that includes all fees associated with selling. You simply set your retail price above the Base Price. When you sell an item, we keep the base price and we send you the markup. For example: Value T-Shirt has a base price of $8.99 You decide to markup the price to $13.99 When you sell one shirt, you generate earnings of $5.00. CaféPress sends you a commission check for your total markups once per month. How much does it cost? With a CaféPress Basic Shop, you can start selling for free. And, there are no inventory costs associated with selling products through either a Basic or Premium Shop. Each item you sell has a base price. You simply markup the base price by the amount you wish to earn for each product you sell. When you sell a product, we keep the base price and you earn the markup. If you are serious about making money on CafePress.com, check out the Premium Shops service. Premium Shops cost $6.95 at the monthly rate, or as little as $4.99 per month at the yearly rate. There are additional benefits associated with a Premium Shop to help you sell more. How much time will it take to get my shop online? Once your digital content is ready, you can create and launch your online shop in minutes. All you need to do is upload your content, choose the products you wish to sell and set your prices. If you don't have your images or content prepared. By spending a little time to optimize your images, you can ensure your products will look their best. How can people find my products on CaféPress? There are two ways people will find your products: 1. You will have your own online shop. For example: http://www.cafepress.com/ShopID When you open your shop, you will choose a Shop ID that will become part of your shop's URL (see above). With your own URL you can: Promote your shop on your web site Email your shop link/URL to friends and family Buy ads on Google and other search engines 2. The CafePress.com Marketplace Shopkeepers will be able to purchase your products directly from the CafePress.com Marketplace, which is visited by millions of people each month. The Competitors Now in the mid-summer of 2005 I tried one of CaféPress' competitors because they had black t-shirts. At the time CaféPress didn't offer this service. The competitor was mediocre compared with CaféPress. They offered a few items that CaféPress did not. But they just didn't have the same level of search that CaféPress offers. The profits were not as good as with CaféPress either. Now, don't get me wrong, they were a fine company. Nothing was wrong with the service they offered. It was simply that CaféPress offered a better service. Now am I dead set on using CaféPress? The answer is no. I really like CaféPress. But if a competitor comes out with a service better than that of CaféPress, I may begin using that. They thing is, I don't think CaféPress will ever lag behind. They are the print on demand industry leader, and I think they always will be. What do I need to sell t-shirts online? First, and foremost, you need creativity and a imagination. Hope is another good thing. You also must have determination and a strong will to succeed. You need to have thick skin and the ability to take an criticism in a constructive way. (Yes, you will have those who criticize you.) Those are all traits that are needed by the person who are wanting to sell t-shirts online. One trait that is maybe the most important is patience.

Selling t-shirts online is no get rich thing. Other things needed are a good computer, good Internet access, and available time to invest in your new business. I would suggest a domain name of your own and a premium CaféPress shop also. You can start your ad campaigns with the use of a credit card, but spend wisely. That is all the startup you need. Conclusion Can you make money selling t-shirts online. YES! Is it easy? YES! Does it require a lot of work? YES. Selling t-shirts online is no get rich quick scheme. Heck, you will most likely never get filthy rich doing it. You can, however, make extra spending money easily and have a good time. You could make a good living at selling t-shirts if you wanted too. It is entirely left up to you, your wants, your needs, and your dreams.
